Baseball Club Tryouts 2012 Baseball Season

Be coached by Professionals who know the game. Play the most competitive baseball in the area. Designed to help players of all ages raise the level of their game.

- Priorities for the 17U and 18U Programs:
Exposure to college programs
Identifying the right college program
Acclimating players to college baseball atmosphere

- Priorities for Younger Players:
Knowledge of the game
Work ethic
Importance of fundamentals

- Seasons consist of approximately 50 games played against high level competition
- Competition in league play & tournaments with teams nationwide
- Weekly practices with our Professional Coaching Staff

Tides 16's win Warwick Summer Slugfest

Entering as the #4 seed, the CT Tides 16U team took over the playoff brackets rolling all the way to the Championship. The Tides defeated the #1 seeded New England Knights 3-2 in the semi-final game. Jack Voigt picked up the win in dominating fashion. He went 6 2/3 innings allowing no earned runs and only two hits. In the championship game, the Tides domination continued. This time it was behind the strong pitching of Michael Keshin. Keshin threw six strong innings, allowing only one earned run, beating the #3 seeded Rhode Island Hurricanes by a score of 6-2. Shortstop Joey Santoro had two hits and two RBI's in the championship game. Josh Newborn shut the door on the mound and Chris Holomakoff was the anchor behind the plate in both playoff games.

Tides 17’s Capture 3rd Annual “Don’t Boot the Loot Invitational” Championship.

Behind spectacular pitching, defense and timely hitting the Connecticut Tides 17U team emerged as champions in the Triple Crown Sports 3rd Annual “Don’t Boot the Loot Invitational.” This 16-team invite only tournament was open only to teams that have won a prior Triple Crown Sports event. In addition, the only way to be crowned champion was to have a perfect 4-0 record. The Tides beat the Merrimack Valley Thunder (8-0) and the Connecticut Hit Club (6-4) to advance to the semi-final round. In the semi’s, the Tides beat the Baseball U New England Royals by a score of 2-0. John Lauttenbach (Norwalk, ’11) recorded the win on the mound throwing an absolute masterpiece. He allowed only two hits while striking out ten Baseball U hitters. Eric Jones (Ridgefield ’12) homered and scored the other run for the Tides on a single by Kyle Ogren (John Jay Cross River ’12). In the finals, the Tides beat the Connecticut Cyclones by a score of 1-0. The score was 0-0 until the bottom of the seventh when Chris Holomakoff (Brien McMahon ’12) doubled and then scored on a Paul Merolla (Wilton ’12) single. Merolla and Jack Voigt (Brunswick ’12) combined for the shutout on the mound.
